Expansion of Damp, Mould and Condensation Consultancy Services

Edwards Hart have been offering moisture investigation consultancy services for some ten years, led by our Director, and building consultancy lead Professor John Edwards, a Chartered Building Surveyor and author of standards and guidance that covers moisture issues in buildings.

In order to meet the demand for our excellent services, we have been collaborating with other experts who work to the same quality standards, on properties that range from listed historic buildings to social housing. In the past twelve months we have been collaborating with Damp Detective Matt George, and one of the most interesting buildings surveyed is the Goeswen Chapel, a grade 2* listed building of National interest, with a graveyard, which contains the remains of Wales most notable preachers, musicians and literary figures, earning the Chapel the title of ‘Westminster Abbey of Wales’.

These services include investigating moisture issues in buildings that have been retrofitted and in recent weeks this collaboration included local authority social housing for the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Professor Edwards said: “The UK is suffering from a pandemic of moisture problems and many of these are to do with buildings which have been retrofitted and nearly every day we see reports of this in the media, even in these summer months”. Professor Edwards added: “We want to help, and many clients need our help, and we will do our best to provide our expertise wherever we can”.
