Damp

We work to standards, and we write standards!

We work to the  “Investigation of Moisture and its Effects in Traditional Buildings’ – Joint position statement”, published by the RICS with others. Our Director and leading expert Professor John Edwards was one of the five experts brought together by the RICS to contribute to this ground breaking publication on dealing with moisture in buildings.

We also work to BS7913, a British Standard that recommends an holistic approach – our Director Professor John Edwards led in its development!

Experts come to us for their expert training – we have trained those in Governments, major consultancy practices and many other organisations and individuals.

We provide expert investigations of moisture problems in buildings. Our services have been developed and are led by Professor John Edwards, an expert practitioner who first started dealing with damp, mould, condensation and much more since 1981. Since that time, he has been working on developing best practice, and has trained thousands of individuals within the UK and beyond in subjects that include moisture investigation and treatment covering all types of buildings of different ages.

We work to best practice and have helped to develop best practice and involve all the latest technology in our investigations.

The overwhelming demand for these services means that we now primarily provide these services through our expert affiliates. These are individuals that have been trained by Professor Edwards and who we constantly liaise with and advise and who work to our practices and ethics.

Our expertise extends to the retrofitting of buildings and the problems it causes.

Our surveying teams are experts in building pathology. We properly analyse buildings and look for the cause of dampness and other problems. This starts with understanding the original construction and its performance. It also means understanding how subsequent inappropriate work and damp proofing has affected that performance and how best to deal with it.
