Taking place in the old stables of Cardiff Castle this free seminar delivered by Thomann Hanry will look at the optimums ways in which to clean stone masonry. Edwards Hart Director for building conservation and co-author of BS 8221-1:2012: Code of practice for cleaning and surface repair of buildings: Cleaning of natural stone, brick, terracotta and concrete, Professor John Edwards said: “Our team will be attending, and I think it should draw a lot of interest and not just because of the cleaning and conservation process, but because of the unique access equipment involved”. Edwards added: “We have seen this in practice in our work at Somerset House where it has not only delivered the product we all want, but also at a reasonable cost as scaffolding wasn’t required”. The event takes place on the 6th September at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Anthony Hopkins Centre, Weston Gallery. It commences at 4 pm and is followed by Q &A and drinks reception.
