Edwards Hart have been appointed to undertake a condition survey of the country mansion Castle Ward, County Down for the National Trust. This will include the analysis of defects, making recommendations on maintenance and remedial work including a maintenance programme with estimated costs. It also includes an evaluation of energy efficiency. The project is led by Edwards Hart Director John Edwards who said: “This is where we excel, dealing with all the problems and defects we come across in all types of buildings, but here we also have to deal with historic significance issues too”. John added: “Having worked on two of Ireland’s finest cathedrals, St. Fin Barres and St. Colman’s in Cork, now it’s great to be working on one of the finest Country Houses in Ireland, and this time in the north”.
