Edwards Hart have been appointed by the Chartered Institute of Building to develop a pilot conservation accreditation scheme. The project, led by Edwards Hart Director John Edwards involves researching best practice in conservation accreditation and determining the ideal characteristics and processes involved in a scheme fit for the 21st Century. Conservation accreditation is an assessment of competency in the understanding and treatment of historic buildings. The criteria for assessing individuals to join a conservation accreditation scheme is the ICOMOS  (International Council on Monuments and Sites) Guidelines for Education and Training in the Conservation of Monuments, Ensembles and Sites (1993).
