A row of late Georgian Grade 2 Listed terraced houses in Cambrian Place were once occupied by the middle classes of South Wales, but have long since been divided into apartments. Like many buildings, this terrace has suffered the consequences of cement render and cement repointing of brickwork and it therefore no longer performs as it was originally intended.

Taking the approach recommended by BS 7913: 2013 Edwards Hart have been appointed by Gwalia Housing Group to methodically analyse the building and to develop a cost effective strategy to bring the building to a point where it has a sustainable future. Project lead for Edwards Hart, John Edwards commented: “It is vitally important to address the technical issues but also to understand historic significance issues as well and then to process our recommendations through a series of heritage impact assessments.”
